Obituary

George Norman "Norm" Burleigh, age 73, of Lead Hill, Arkansas, passed away Monday, April 19, 2021 at John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital in Little Rock.

The son of George Henry Burleigh and Mary Inez (Prudhomme) Burleigh was born in Opelousas, Louisiana on November 20, 1947.

Norm was a Veteran of the US Air Force serving during the Vietnam Era.  He was honorably discharged in March of 1972 at the rank of Sergeant.

Norm always enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing.  He loved working on vintage motorcycles and refurbishing firearms. Whenever he could he would bring his dog (and best friend), Chookie, with him on rides and errands.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Susan Douget, and his wife, Sandra Burleigh.

Norm is survived by his children, Brett Burleigh and wife Janet of Houston, TX, Paul Relle of MO and Kurt Relle of PA; six grandchildren, his extended family and many close friends. The Luneau family will kindly adopt Chookie into their family.

Graveside service will be at 3 PM, Monday, April 26, 2021 at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery, 4833 Hwy 182, Opelousas, Louisiana.
