Nola Mae Passmore, age 83, of Harrison, AR passed away Friday, April 13, 2007, at her home in Harrison.
The daughter of George Franklin and Lydia (Hicks) Edwards, was born September 15, 1923 at Burlington, AR.
Nola Mae, also known lovingly as Nanny, Aunt Nola, or Nollie, or even Nodie, was known as the family and extended family's "care-giver", primary source of information, and encourager for maintaining the family's expanding relationships. A loving homemaker while her children were at home, she later worked at the Marrs' coin-a-matic laundry, and as a cook at the Rocket Drive Inn and Skyline Elementary School, from which she retired.
She will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her family extends appreciation to all who have extended their comfort and prayers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Damon C. Passmore; her parents; two daughters, Peggy Jean and Betty Lou Bryant; a grandson, Stuart Bryant; brothers, Edward, Herbert, and Riley Edwards; a sister-in-law, Modean (Roberts) Edwards; and two nieces.
Survivors include a sister, Ethel Hedrick of Olathe, KS; sister-in-law, Maxine Edwards of Harrison; her son, James Bryant and his wife, Virginia of Paducah, KY; daughter, Joann (Bryant) Wilkinson; sons, Cloyd Passmore and his wife, Judy and Robert Passmore, all of Harrison; grandsons, Richard Scaggs, Wesley Passmore, Michael Shane Passmore, Joey Wells and his wife, Kim, and Jimmy Wells; granddaughters, Michele (Bryant) Henry and her husband, Kevin, Amber (Bryant) Goodrum and her husband, Kirk, Kara (Passmore) Isham and her husband, Kris, Robin (Passmore) Phillips and her husband, Josh, and Mitzi (Wells) Wynn; six great grandsons, five great granddaughters, eight nephews, eight nieces, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Monday, April 16 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Funeral services were Tuesday, April 17 at Burlington Baptist Church with Dr. James D. Bryant, Rev. Sam Dunham, and Rev. Raymond F. Edwards officiating. Burial followed in the Burlington Cemetery. Pallbearers were her nephews, Charles Hedrick, George Hedrick, Joe Edwards, Danny Edwards, Mike Edwards, and Gary Edwards. Honorary pallbearers were her grandsons, Dr. Victor Chu, and nurses and staff of NARMC's 4th Floor, and her great niece and homecare provider, Kenna Latham.
