Nita Jane Salsman, age 88 of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Friday, April 3, 2009 at Hillcrest Nursing Home.

The daughter of Glen Dale and Blanch (Harmon) McLain, she was born January 18, 1921 in Pratt, Kansas.

While she was a young child she enjoyed riding her pony and always sung "In The Garden". She had lived in this area since 1953, moving from Wichita, Kansas.
She was a member of Valley Springs Baptist Church where she was the secretary for many years, also was involved in prayer groups and a women's Bible class. She enjoyed taking food to other members of the Church. She also enjoyed watching baseball games on television and feeding the birds and working with her flowers.

Her parents preceded her in death, along with her husband, Malcolm E. Salsman; a niece, Prenita Huff; a brother-in-law, Leonard Huff; and a sister, Glenda Joy Wiggins.

Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Karen Salsman of Harrison; grandchildren, Dr. Tara Salsman Willmott and her husband, Matt Willmott and Malcolm Glen "M.G." Salsman, Jr. She is also survived by her sister, Hazel Huff of Rudd, Arkansas.

Visitation was Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.
Service was Thursday, April 9, 2009 at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Carl Garvin officiating.

Burial followed in Maplewood Cemetery with pallbearers being nephew, Dale Huff, great-nephews, Trey Huff and Tad Huff, Jerry Thomason, Larry Phillips, and J.B. Bryant. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Louie Keener, Dr. Larry Keener, Dr. Lynn Keener, Retha Keener,Vickie Keener Davis,Jim Brasel, Denver Sullins, Paul Roten, Ben Eddings, Edde Phillips, Valley Springs Baptist Church Women's Class, the staff of the Hillcrest Nursing Home, the staff of Legacy Hospice, and the staff of Sam Alexander Pharmacy.
