Nickey Don "Nick" Kimes, age 73, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at NARMC. He was born in Harrison on October 12, 1951, to Brack and Nell (Dean) Kimes. Nick spent most of his life in Boone County and graduated from Valley Springs High School in 1969.
Nick worked as an auctioneer and had a passion for raising cattle. He retired from ARDOT and enjoyed music and playing the guitar. Additionally, he was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, and the Arkansas Razorbacks. Nick cherished his family and friends dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Bob Roush.
Nick is survived by his wife of 32 years, Cindy Kimes; his daughter, Kara Tramell; and two granddaughters, Erin Tramell and Rebecca Tramell, all of Harrison. He is also survived by his two brothers, Jerry (Karen) Kimes of Kansas City, MO, and Kent (Ann) Kimes of Harrison; his niece and nephew, Josh Kimes and Kortni (Ben) Dixon; his sister-in-law, Becky Roush; his brother-in-law, Curt (Jody) Free; and numerous extended relatives and dear friends who will greatly miss him.
A funeral service and visitation will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. The visitation will begin at 10 AM, followed by the service at 11 AM. Pastor Byron Cothran and Bruce Trammell will officiate. Burial will take place at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Mike Brasel, Tommy Taylor, Brad Potter, Randy Kimes, Jim Kimes, and Ronnie Robison.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Hospice of the Hills, 501 E Sherman, Harrison, AR 72601.
Nick's legacy of kindness and dedication to his family and friends is one that will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. His laughter, wisdom, and unwavering support for his loved ones were the cornerstones of his character. As we gather to celebrate his life, we remember not just the man he was, but the memories and moments he shared with us all.
