Neva Brumley Deakins Norvell, born in Oklahoma March 28, 1937, passed away January 1, 2026, in Jasper, Arkansas, due to complications from Alzheimer's disease.

Neva was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Walter Brumley; her husbands, Dean Deakins and Glen Norvell; and her son, Randy Deakins.

She is survived by her son, Ronnie Deakins (Katie); and her two beloved grandchildren, Kyle Deakins and Anna Grace Deakins (Ethan Hawbaker).

Neva was known as a gentle soul, always greeting others with a warm smile. She was a devoted grandmother who lovingly cared for Kyle and Anna Grace in her home while their parents worked, creating a place filled with love, patience, and kindness.

In her younger years, Neva and Dean enjoyed dancing and listening to classic country music, especially the songs of Hank Williams, Sr., Loretta Lynn, and Johnny Cash. Music and dancing remained a joy throughout her life. In later years, she treasured the time she spent at the Harrison Senior Center, particularly on days filled with music and dancing.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Maple Esplanade Assisted Living Center in Harrison and to the caregivers at Countryside Nursing Home in Jasper for their kindness and dedicated care.

A private graveside service will be held at Hilltop Cemetery at a later date under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison.
