Obituary
Modesta "Kay" Cooper Gonzales, 94, of Harrison, passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 at Harrison Rehabilitation and Health.
Modesta was born at Snowball, Arkansas on November 12, 1921, the daughter of George and Etta (Castleberry) Cooper.
She was married to Johnny Gonzales and was a devoted housewife and caregiver. She was a wonderful grandmother and great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Johnny Gonzales; a sister, Wenonah Spriggs; 3 brothers, Rolfe Cooper, Don Cooper and Faye Silas Cooper; 3 children, Jerry Gonzales, Carl Gonzales and Annette Simmons; and one great grandson.
Modesta is survived by her daughter, Brenda McNeil and her husband Morgan of Walls, MS; 3 sons, Benny Gonzales and his wife Cheryl of Harrison, Dennis Gonzales of Springfield, MO and Anthony Gonzales and his wife Diane of Harrison; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Friday, May 13, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Elmwood Cemetery with Brother Rodney Stromlund and Brother Tim Cooper officiating.
Honorary pallbearers are her grandsons.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7pm at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Hills of Harrison.
The family wishes to thank all the staff of Harrison Rehabilitation and Health for their loving care of Modesta "Kay".
