Missouria Louise Byrd, age 88 of Harrison, Arkansas, was called home May 11, 2010 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison.
The daughter of Benjamin and Elizabeth (Jones) Ward was born April 9, 1922 in Zent, Arkansas.

Louise was a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Harrison. She loved flowers from her garden and she canned and preserved for the winter seasons. She was an expert seamstress and she knew most bird names and recognized thier sounds. She helped her husband in ministry by entertaining hundreds a year in her home. She worked for a time in her son's pet store Byrd's Pet Paradise in Harrison and also worked at Dogpatch in the early 1970's. She married Edward Byrd May 12, 1940 and they were together to the end.

She is preceded in death by her parents and six brothers, Harry, Earl, Robert, Edward, Earnest and Olin.

Louise Byrd is survived by her husband, Edward Byrd of the home; one son, Ben E. Byrd Jr. and wife Dana; four daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Clay Thompson of Madsion, Wisconsin, Emma and Carlton Smith of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Abigail (Abbie) and Edgar Potter of Funchal Maderia, Portugal and Paula and Frank Fite of McComb, Mississippi; five sisters, Pearl Wilson, Ruth Wilson, Ora (O.V.) Virginia Moore, Lucille Jenkins all of Clinton, Arkansas, and Mary Pennington of Brinkley, Arkansas; many nieces and nephews; fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.

Funeral Service was Monday May 17, 2010 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison with Brother George Fletcher and Wayne Ruff officiating. Visitation was Sunday at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison Burial will be at Western Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were family and friends. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Kenny Collins and Joe Cecil.
