Miriam Jean Moore, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017 at home at the age of 80.

The daughter of Trilby and Dorothy (Morrison) Moore was born September 7, 1937 in Randles, Missouri.

Miriam grew up in Southeast Missouri, she then pursued her teaching degree, graduating with her AA from Southwest Baptist College in 1960, her BS degree from Southeast MO State at Cape Girardeau in 1964 and her Master's degree from University of Missouri St. Louis in 1969. Her teaching career would span nearly 50 years, in Missouri, California and Arkansas, in third grade, college professor and Christian school principal.

"Mim" as her family called her, enjoyed playing piano, genealogy research, traveling, reading and spending time with her family and friends. She was a strong Christian, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Harrison. She was charitable with her family and causes that were dear to her. She was a loving aunt and loyal friend and a lifelong mentor to her students.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Doris McGraw and 3 nieces.

Miriam is survived by two nephews, Alex McGraw and wife Sheena of Harrison, Andy McGraw and wife Toni of Fayetteville; her special great nephew and caregiver, Brian McGraw, 8 great nieces and nephews, 5 great great nieces and nephews and many loving friends.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, November 6, 2017 at Caney Fork Cemetery in Oak Ridge, Missouri under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison with Pastor Randy Conn officiating. Pallbearers are family and friends.

At Miriam's request, there will be no visitation.
