Minnie Opal Rhoades, age 77 of Jasper, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, November 28, 2021, at her home in Jasper.

The daughter of Willie Lee and Minnie Bulah (Holt) Morgan was born October 9, 1944, in Jasper.

Opal is preceded in death by her parents; her son Charles Rhoades; brother, Clyde Morgan; sisters, Lois Wallace, Magdlene Clayborn, and Fern Smith; daughters-in-law, Tammy (Knapp) Rhoades and Jennifer (Larnard) Rhoades.

Opal attended the Jasper Assembly of God Church and later attended the Log Hall Church.  She worked at Levi Straus for 15 years before becoming a cook at the Jasper School for 33 years.  She lived in Jasper her whole life and married Harry on April 14, 1962, at the Jasper Assembly of God Church.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Harry Rhoades of Jasper; her son Homer Rhoades and his wife Sheri of Jasper; her daughter, Tanya Smith, and her husband Daniel of Jasper; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper.

The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, December 2, 2021, at the Jasper First Assembly of God church with Pastor Steven Holt and Pastor Jim Bohannon officiating. Burial will follow at the Jasper Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Michael Rhoades, Landen Rhoades, Russell Morgan, David Morgan, Jay Hughes, and Zach Campbell.

Honorary pallbearers Floyd Morgan, Isaiah Curtis, and Brandon Rhoades.
