Minnie J. Claytor, of Jasper, AR was born June 7, 1939 in Dallas, TX and departed this life on January 9, 2008 in Harrison, AR, at the age of 68.
Her parents, Utah Carl and Callie Elizabeth (Kilgore) Lamb, preceded her in death, along with a brother, Utah Carl Lamb, Jr, a sister, Wanda Charlene Iverson, and a grandson, Lee'O Tilton Housden III.
Minnie was raised at Cumberland Presbyterian Children's Home in Denton, TX, with an extended family of forty brothers and sisters. In recent years she found a long lost brother, Paul Crowley, of Dallas, TX, who had been placed for adoption as an infant. She spent her early adult years farming and raising her family. She was a retired cosmetology instructor and beauty salon owner, she was also a former correspondent for the Newton County Times newspaper.
She is survived by her children, Lela Joyce Minor and her husband, David, of Ash Flat, AR, Lee'O Tilton Housden, Jr., of Low Gap, AR, Martha Marie Armor, of Denton, TX, and James Dan'l Housden and his wife, Shana, of Aubrey, TX. She was the proud grandmother of eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Friday, January 11, 2008 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper. Funeral service was Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Low Gap Full Gospel Church, Low Gap, AR, with Rev. Donnie Villines officiating. Burial followed in Low Gap Cemetery.
