Michael Henry Thomas, of Harrison, Arkansas went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 21, 2018 surrounded by his family at the age of 66.
The son of Erma Lee (Williams) Thomas and the late Cecil Kenneth Thomas was born April 6, 1952 at Salinas, California.
He moved to Harrison in 1975 and worked for the Harrison School District for 15 years followed by Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department District 9 for 21 years. After retiring, he then worked for a few years driving a school bus.
Michael loved life and lived it to the fullest. He loved fishing, taking his grandchildren camping, junking with his wife, Jeanette. He also enjoyed woodworking and re-purposing furniture for Vintage Market.
He was a member of Resurrection Power Ministry. He was a Youth leader, Sunday School Teacher and Worship Leader, and had also served several years as a Deacon. He enjoyed visiting other churches. Michael was blessed with a God-given talent to sing, and he loved to sing for others. He loved the Lord and he loved to tell others about the Lord. He would pray for anyone, anywhere. His desire was to have all of his family in church and serving the Lord.
Michael was a sweet, loving, hardworking man, always eager to help anyone in need. He loved his kids and grandkids and spending time with them. He was so happy when his grandson Harley was healed and able to have his feeding tube removed.
Michael is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jeanette (Taylor) Thomas of the home; his mother, Erma Thomas of Alpena; his son, Michael Wayne Thomas and wife Kristy of Harrison; his daughter, Janese Emily Fritz and husband Jeremy of Alpena; his sisters, Euphama Stephens and husband Tommy, Michelle Smith and husband Robert, Lynette Cantwell and husband Jerry and Laquetta Cope and husband James all of Alpena; 4 grandchildren, Mikala Phillips and husband Tanner, Katelyn Thomas, Dalton Fritz and Harley Fritz; his sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Nell and Harry Baldridge of Ozark, MO and Mel Taylor of Cassville, MO; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM, Friday, July 27, 2018 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison with Pastors Denny and Jeanie Waters and Pastor Mike Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Grubb Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Harry Baldridge, Robert Smith, Larry Otten, Danny Tucker, Gary Smith and Rocky Valentine.
Honorary Pallbearers are Jeremy Fritz, Dalton Fritz, Harley Fritz, Tanner Phillips, Landon Moore and Dr. Victor Chu.
