Michael Lee Smith, Sr., of Harrison, passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. He was 72 years old.

The son of Junior Joseph and Edna Mae (Loseau) Smith was born on December 19, 1950 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Michael was a veteran of the United State Marine Corps and served in Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion Post 44, the VFW, and the DAV. Michael was a former Master Locksmith and a member of NARS, an amateur radio club.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; two sisters; one brother; and two great grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Thelma Smith, of the home; the mother of his sons, Lawnitta Smith Barker; two sons, Michael L. Smith, Jr. and his wife, Serina, of Oak Grove and John Smith and his wife, Torie, of West Fork; three daughters, Melissa Crow and her husband, Kenneth, Carolyn Badley and her wife, Ramona, and Loretta Cone, all of Harrison; two brothers, James Usher, of Colorado and Jr. Joe Smith, of Harrison; five sisters, Dianna Waters and her husband, Richard, of Jasper, Nancy Kee and her husband, Jess, of Harrison, Kathy Weaver, of Clovis, NM, Barbara Mayfield and her husband, Brian, of Harrison, and Tina Farmer and her husband, Tim, of Billings, MO; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be at 10:00 AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM both on Friday, February 24, 2023 at Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison. Kenneth Crow will officiate. Burial will be in Capps Cemetery. Pallbearers are Travis Wren, Landon Remkus, Sebastian Powers, Joey Pelton, Jason Millikan, and DJ Wyatt Smith. Honorary pallbearers include the staff at Legacy Hospice.
