Obituary

Michael Shane Moore, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed through the gates of Heaven on Monday, September 21, 2020 at the age of 60.

He was born August 29, 1960 to parents, Dale and Vera (Thomas) Moore in Gravette, Arkansas.  He was a graduate of Gravette High School and after high school, he went on to fulfill his calling of becoming a pastor.  He graduated from Citadel Bible College with a Bachelor's Degree in Biblical Studies.  He was a member of Newton County Baptist Church.

Mike married the love of his life and best friend, Julie (Hunter) Moore on September 3, 1988.  Together, they lived in several states, moving where they were needed to share their ministry.  He was passionate about ministry, especially working with the youth.  Mike saw being a youth pastor as a "main event" and being able to guide and influence teens at a pivotal time in their lives.  He furthered this mission after returning to Arkansas, where Mike was active at Rock Haven Bible Camp and many area churches.  He was always there to support local pastors, encouraging them and helping them build and grow their youth outreach.  His contagious spirit for youth has been spread in many hearts and churches all across the country.  He loved to preach and he loved to share the gospel.  His impact on youth and pastors is immeasurable, and he would tell you it was all for the glory of the Lord and to further His kingdom.

When Mike wasn't busy working for the Kingdom of God, he was a devoted and loving husband, father, son and Pappy.  He treasured his family; he adored his girls and he especially loved his grand-babies.  He enjoyed playing Trivial Pursuit, listening to all kinds of music, watching movies and writing poetry.  He will be remembered for his love of hot tea, a monstrous sweet tooth, an obsession with fountain pens and his pride in the Chicago Bears.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Nelson Moore; his brother, Bill Moore; and his grandparents, Charles and Wilma Ward and Loyd and Florence Thomas.

Mike is survived by his wife of 32 years, Julie Moore; his daughters, Hannah Moore and Hadassah Lenell and husband, Tim and their two children, Elise and Shepherd; his mother, Vera Moore; his sister-in-law, Renita Moore; and his niece and nephew, Seth Moore and Emily Ingram and husband Cole.  He is also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dayle and Patricia Gabler; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, in-laws and many friends.
