Michael Paul Manion, Sr., of Yellville, Arkansas passed away Thursday night, May 25, 2017 at home at the age of 57.
The son of Dana Manion, Sr., and Edith V. (Ashwill) Manion was born November 22, 1959 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Michael was the 8th of 9 children. He grew into a tall skinny kid that liked to wear plaid pants in the 70's; he filled out later in life I might add. He had many friends and attended Bingham Jr. High and Southwest High Schools in Kansas City, MO.
Michael was an Arborist for much of his adult life and even got a few of his nephews into that line of work. He and his wife moved to Harrison, Arkansas in 1987 and soon after moved to Harmon, where he ran a turkey farm for several years with 9 turkey houses on it. He was a Captain of the Pyatt Fire department and was very passionate about working with them. He was also a First Responder and enjoyed chasing storms and tornadoes. He also loved his dogs very much!
He was Baptized at the First Baptist Church in Marshall, AR.
He was preceded in death by both parents, Viola and Dana, Sr.; brothers, Bill Green and Dana Manion, Jr., and a sister, Denise Farage.
He leaves behind his wife of 34 years, Teresa Manion; 3 children from his first marriage, Shannon Rivers (Keith) of Kansas City, MO, Michael Paul Manion, Jr. (Mary Beth) of O'Fallon. MO, and Malissa Gates (Jeff) of Lake, MO; 7 grandchildren, Tucker Manion, Grayson Manion, Savanah Manion, Caleb Manion, Hunter Chaney, Caitlyn Chaney, Taylor Stanley and 2 great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Joshua Stanley. He also leaves behind 5 siblings, Dennis Green (Jean) of Platte City, MO, David Green of AR, Deanne O'Neill (Dan) of Liberty, MO, Donna Bennett (Jim) of Elkhart, IN, and Michelle Paquet of Kansas City, MO; and too many to count nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces and a few great great nephews and nieces.
There will be no services, per his wishes, he wanted to be cremated and his ashes scattered in Arkansas on the land he loved. If you would like, you may send donations in Michael Manion's name to the Pyatt Fire Department at PO Box 96, Pyatt, AR, 72672.
