Merwyn James Comer, age 92 from Batavia Arkansas went to be with the Lord on January 18, 2025.

He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Comer, his parents Joe and Margaret Comer, 3 brothers and 1 sister.

He is survived by his sister, Bev Boehrns of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and his children, Jona and Greg Farris, Lora and Bubba McLemore, and Merle Comer.  Merwyn, also known as Papa Comer, had a great love for his grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially Tinker aka Jeremiah Comer.

Papa had a charismatic nature and loved to host friends and family and enjoyed visiting and telling stories. Tinkering was another passion of his. Anything mechanical was fair game for him to work on, clocks being his favorite.  All family and friends who were lucky enough to have one of Papa's breakfasts would attest that pancakes and awful-waffles were the best. His favorite pastimes while out and about were banana day at Hudson's, yard sale hunting, and browsing thrift stores.

Merwyn is a three-year Marine veteran and a 19-year Army veteran, and we thank him for his service.

A graveside service will be held on January 25, 2025 at the Auman Cemetery at 1:00 PM.

The family would like to thank Hospice House for the kindness and gentle care that they administered to Papa during his last days. The nurses and aides showed compassion and understanding to the family and Papa. The family would also like to thank the doctors and nurses that took care of Papa throughout the last year.
