Melvin Gyle Shaddox, of Harrison, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center. He was 76 years old.

The son of Rex Beacher and Inis Virginia (Brasel) Shaddox was born on May 1, 1945 in Jasper, Arkansas.

Melvin was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was of the Christian faith. He loved being outdoors, being at the river, and was an avid hunter. Melvin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Garth Shaddox.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 51 years, Shirley Shaddox; two sons, Justin Shaddox and wife, Courtnay, and Robert "Robby" Shaddox; one daughter, Stephanie Welch; 10 grandchildren, Quincy, Bailey, McKinsey, Asher, and Jeremiah Shaddox, Larocco Rock, Colby Welch and wife, Daniela, Silas Welch, Jayce Linahan, and Taylor Linahan; two great grandchildren, Elijah Alexander Rangel and Elaina Grace Welch; one brother, Dorwin Shaddox; and several other family members and friends.

Graveside service is Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Shaddox Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Justin Shaddox, Jim Dave Reed, Jason Willy, Adam Casey, Silas Welch, and Colby Welch. Honorary pallbearers include Asher Shaddox, Bailey Shaddox, Quincy Shaddox, McKinsey Shaddox, Jeremiah Shaddox, and Larocco Rock.
