Matthew Robert DeWayne Massey, of Springfield, Missouri departed this life too soon on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at the age of 32.

He was born at Tahlequah, Oklahoma on July 11, 1987 to parents, Cecil Ray Massey, Jr., and Cheryl Allisa Davis Massey. He was a member of Dominion Life Church. He was a 2006 graduate of Bergman High School, where he played basketball and proudly wore #11 on his jersey. He had been working at National Audio in Springfield.

Matt was always considered the class clown. He was witty and always made people laugh. He loved playing video games, basketball, camping with friends and trips to Wyoming. He was truly one of a kind, never afraid to share his opinion and incredibly generous. Matt loved his family and was a loyal friend. He had a big heart and he loved BIG.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Archie and Lillie Ellen Leaf and Cecil Ray Massey, Sr., and a cousin, Remicah Joann Reese.
Matt is survived by his mother, Cheryl Allisa Davis of Bergman, his father, Cecil Ray Massey, Jr., of Sand Springs, OK; his brother, David Ray Massey of Springfield, MO; his sisters, Jessica Renee Wiscaver (Justin) of Harrison and Rachel Dawn Darr (Brian) of Bergman; grandparents, Gene and Reva Davis of Bergman; 8 nieces and nephews, Jacob, Jared, Ashton, Bryanna, Eliza, Jasmine, Eli and Jayde; his aunts and uncles, Larita Davis of Bergman, Deborah Reese of Harrison, Randall Davis (Tonya) of TX, David Massey (Gena), Daniel Massey (Linda), Timothy Massey, Marilyn McIntosh (Kenny) and Bill Massey (Debbie) all of OK; and a host of cousins, extended family and many close friends who loved him and will miss him dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday August 26, 2019 at Dominion Life Church in Bergman with Bro. Coma Rivers officiating. Burial will follow at York Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday from 5-8 PM at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.

Pallbearers are Michael Edmonson, Andrew Nance, Blake Rogers, Nathaniel Still, Travis Keymer, Charles Griffin and Chance Martin.
Honorary pallbearers are the Bergman Class of 2006.
