MaryJo C. Johnson, age 72, of Jasper, Arkansas passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
The daughter of Joseph and Norma (Shei) Glischinski was born August 24, 1942 in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
She was a graduate of St. Mary's College in Oakland, California. She had a professional career in medical research. A sixteen year resident of Jasper, she was a longtime writer for The Newton County Times, served on the board of the Newton County Resource Council and with her close friend Peggy Crouse, co-chaired the Newton County Cancer Support Group. Through the gracious support of the residents of Newton County, they were able to provide financial support to many Newton County patients.
Survivors are her husband Jerry; sons James and wife Linda of Washington, D.C. and Robert and wife Lisa of Harrison, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Connor and Anna of Washington, D.C., Riley, Mallory and Avery of Harrison, Arkansas.
MaryJo's memorial service was held at the home of Peggy Crouse in Jasper, Arkansas on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 2 P.M. For information, please call Peggy at 870-446-2258.
