Mary Lou Saunders, age 88 of Jasper, Ar. passed into the presence of her Lord on November 8, 2015 at the Newton County Nursing Home. She was born on December 24, 1926 in Waterloo, Ia., daughter of Lewis Elton and Bernice Collins Deits. She married Paul Moline Saunders on May 30, 1947 at the Waterloo Grace Brethren Church with Rev. Arnold Kriegbaum officiating. Mary Lou and Paul celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary this year. She graduated from West High School in 1945 and attended Bob Jones College. She worked in the home caring for her family and foster children. Mary Lou had a big heart for special needs children. She was a charter member of the Waterloo Grace Brethren Church in Waterloo, Ia. She loved music and was a choir member, organist, pianist and teacher for many years. She retired with her husband Paul and moved to Jasper, Ar. in 1979. Mary Lou was the pianist in the Jasper United Methodist Church where she and Paul attended. She had nine grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren (one deceased) and nine great, great grandchildren. Mary Lou will be interred in the Jasper Cemetery, Jasper, Ar.
She is survived by her husband, Paul M. Saunders, five children Paula McCully (Darrel) of Warrensburg, Mo., Mark Saunders (Roberta) of Harrison, Ar., Lou Ann Hyland (Steve) of Des Moines, Ia., Mike Saunders (Rhonda) of Vinton, Ia., Ricky Saunders of Jasper, Ar. and nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and nine great, great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Bernice Deits and three sisters, Iva Belle Kepple, Anna Mae Grady, and Lola E. Rousselow.

Memorial Service will be on Saturday, November 14 at the Jasper United Methodist Church, Jasper, Ar. Viewing at 9:00 am, Service at 10:00 am and burial following at the Jasper Cemetery.
