Mary J. Rogers, age 86 of Lead Hill, Arkanas passed away Thursday, August 19, 2010 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison.
She was born February 12, 1924 in Lead Hill, Arkansas the daughter of Roy and Allie (Journagan) Akins. She grew up in the Lead Hill area. She marrried Lonzo Rogers in 1945 and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was a member of Lead Hill Church of God.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Iris Dean Rogers; three sisters, Leiza (Akins) Copeland, Alice (Akins) Young, and Betty (Akins) Bearnath; and three brothers, Boyd Akins, L.R. Akins, and John Akins.
Survivors are her son, Randy Rogers; one sister, Buelah Jo Harington and her husband, Roy; one brother, Frank Akins and his wife, Virginia; grandchildren, Randy Leon Rogers and his wife, Tina and Crystal Rogers; three great-grandchildren, Alexandria Rogers, Tyler Rogers, and Chase Rogers; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Sunday, August 22, 2010 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Service was Monday, August 23, 2010 at Lead Hill Church of God with Billy Rogers officiating. Burial followed in Keesee Cemetery in the Monarch Community with pallbearers being Tim Rogers, Bobby Rogers, Billy Joe Rogers, James Roy Rogers, Steve Copeland, and Grover Downs.
Honorary pallbearers were the staff at Bristol Pointe Health and Rehab.
