Mary Francis Reed, age 91, of Harrison, Arkansas, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 10, 2026.
The daughter of Cletus and Thelma (Cardin) Myers was born February 22, 1935 at Sikeston, Missouri.
Mary moved to Boone County 52 years ago from Alton, Illinois. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. Mary had worked as department head of the candy department and cashier at Walmart for many years, starting at the original store #2 location in the Younes Shopping Center. She also worked as a desk clerk for Holiday Inn for several years.
She was an excellent seamstress and an amazing cook. More than anything, Mary loved her family and especially her grandkids. She treasured every moment with them. She will be affectionately remembered as an awesome grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother; a loving mother and a good friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Bob Heitzman; two infant brothers; her husband, Cecil Reed; a daughter, Melinda Dicus; and two great grandsons, Trysten and Ayden Noell.
Mary is survived by two sons, Robert Smith and wife Susan and Chad Streeper and wife Stephanie; a daughter, Tracy Oliger and husband Steve; a son-in-law, Terry Dicus; two sisters, Shirley Duncan and husband Steve and Billie Armstrong; 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; a special aunt, Reka Helvey; several dear cousins, nieces, nephews, and many, many good friends.
Visitation will be at 1:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM, both on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Pastors Eddie Reed and Joey Wilson will officiate. Singers will be Brian Sprulock and Arlis Burks.
Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery. Pastor Lonnie Burks will officiate graveside.
Pallbearers are Chad Streeper, Marcus Streeper, Peyton Noell, Roy Staggs, Jr., Cadeon Teague, and Braxton Staggs.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Geoffrey Dunaway, Steven Noell, Steven Oliger, Jeremy Krebs, and Grant Bray.
Memorial donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
