Mary Morgan died from a long and courageous battle with Emphysema, on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. She was born June 28, 1942, in Ponca, AR to her loving parents Norman and Mary Ruth.  She worked hard and continuously cared for everyone around her.  Being the oldest sibling of Mary Ruth's "dozen" she grew up and matured fast.  She married her husband Clyde and started her own family in 1959.  While her family was young, they operated the Conoco Station in Jasper.  She was a seamstress, a waitress, a respected community member, and a member of the Parthenon Baptist Church.

Mary left this earth surrounded by the people she brought into it.  She received a call, a sort of offer you can't refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning.  This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she hasn't seen in a long time.

Mary loved to be anywhere her family gathered. She enjoyed cheering for her grandchildren at the ballgames and giving advice and encouragement as needed.  She cooked continuously and doted on her family as long as her health allowed her to.

Mary also enjoyed knowing what was going on in her hometown but was tight-lipped when it came to repeating negative information.  Sometimes you couldn't even get good advice from her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Mary Ruth Phillips; her husband Clyde Morgan, her son, Floyd Lee Morgan; her daughter, Cheryl Sue Morgan; her sister, Bobbie Breedlove; and her in-laws, Fern and Denver Smith, Magadlene and Wallace Clayborn, Lois and JD Wallace,  Opal Rhoades, Doy Breedlove, and Lee Breedlove; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary is survived by her sons, David Morgan (Jamie), and Russell Morgan (Dora); her daughters, Marsha Edgmon (Terry), Rebecca Morgan (Craig), and Shelly Vaughan (Shawn), her brothers, Rodney Phillips, Henry Phillips (Loretta), and Nelson Phillips; her sisters, Diantha Smith(Frances), Cathy Breedlove (Rodney), Betsy Braswell (Tim), Tammie Vanderwaal, Jan Edgmon, Tonda Ervin (Jeff), and Ginger Holtby (Billy); and brother-in-law, Harry Rhoades and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary is also survived by her grandchildren, Derek, Andrea, Cody, Lynzi, Matthew, James David, Mason, Ariana, Jonay, Kenley, Morgan, and Staci; and her great-grandchildren, Jesse, Lily, Porter, Rylan, Ellie, Maci, Kirby, Leland, Aaliyah, Makenna, Waylon, and Willie.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Monday, February 27 at the Parthenon Baptist Church with Brother Wade Edwards and Brother Brandon Brasel officiating. Burial will follow in Jasper Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Henry Phillips, Tim Braswell, Rodney Breedlove, James David Morgan, Jeff Ervin, and Billy Holtby.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mary's grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
