Mary F. McGaughey Gaylor, age 90 of Harrison, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2008 at her home in Harrison.

Visitation was Tuesday, December 2, 2008 with funeral services Wednesday, December 3, 2008 both at Coffman Funeral Home with Pastor David Smith officiating. Burial followed in Maplewood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ben McGuire, Joe Wilson, Jim Wilson, Eric Miller, Scott Franklin, Scott Dye, Kyle Holbrook, and Bobby Allen Holtby.

Mary was born January 13, 1918 at Rock Springs, Arkansas, the daughter of Bob and Euna (Jones) Kelly. She married Vernon McGaughey in 1936 and they had four children. Vernon passed away in 1980 and Mary married W.A. Gaylor in 1991. She and W.A. attended Valley View Methodist Church.

Mary was an inspiration to family and friends despite being confined to a wheelchair since 1955. She was a talented custom seamstress, working from her home and doing alterations for local clothing shops while raising her family.

She was preceded in death by her son, Bob, and two young granddaughters.

She is survived by her husband, W.A. Gaylor of the home; her son, Arthur McGaughey of Fayetteville; daughters, Ann McGuire of Tulsa and Jayne Wilson of Harrison; step daughter, Beverly Franklin of Springfield; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; sisters, Nina Tucker and Marjorie Gipson; two nieces; and one nephew.
