Obituary

Mary Loretta Jackson, age 69, went home with the Lord Monday, June 5, 2006.

She was born May 7, 1937 in West Blocton, AL a daughter of Aaron Thomas and Effie Sue (Owens) Majors.

At 29 years old she became a widow, left to raise six children.
She was a waitress at Sunset Restaurant at Marshall, AR for many years and later moved to Springfield, MO where she became a CNA until her retirement. She then moved back to Harrison where she went to college at North Arkansas College until becoming ill. She was involved with the Student Government as Vice President and Representative. She was a member of PBL and attended the BCM.

Being a student at North Ark was a fullfillment although her joy was being with her family. She was a loving mother and dear friend. Everyone will miss her smiles, her laughter, and her phone calls. We know we will see her again, because Christians never say "goodbye". She was a member of Unity Baptist Church.

She leaves behind her children, Mary Ann Keys and husband, Jim of Berrgman, Sharon Finley of Harrison, Melvin Jackson and wife, Patti of Marshall, Robin Matlock and husband, Garland of Compton, Donna Addison of Branson, and Sandra Mackivitch and husband, Gary of Falcon, MO; two brothers and four sisters, Tom Majors, Helen Rushing, Brenda Bradford, Debbie Thodes, Judy Morhman, and Rodney Meyers; twelve grandchildren; three step grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and two step great grandchildren.

Service was Friday, June 9 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison with Rev. Doug Burris officiating. Burial was in East Lawn Cemetery at Marshall, AR. Pallbearers were Jamie Keys, Stephen Mackivitch, Erick Armer, Christopher Hatfield, Brian Jones, and Michael Jones. Honorary pallbearers were North Arkansas Student Government and Hospice of the Hills Nurses and Staff. Visitation was Thursday June 8, at the funeral home.
