Mary Head, age 55 of Monroe, Louisiana passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Jasper, Arkansas.
She was born May 1, 1956 in Alexandria, Louisiana the daughter of John and Angel Cleo (Martine) Pawliski.
Mary loved the Ozarks, especially Newton County. She and her husband, Mark, spent a lot of time hiking, admiring waterfalls, canoeing and watching wildlife. Mary loved spotting elk, deer, foxes and most of all, bears in her backyard and the surrounding mountains. She was also a gifted artist and loved to paint outdoor portraits and landscapes. A unique art that Mary beautifully perfected was painting wildlife and outdoor scenes onto rocks she found in local creeks. She also made remarkable rock sculptures.
Mary had a strong faith in God and was never ashamed to tell people about His love and truth. She was an inspiration to many people and loved beyond measure. Her presence will leave a lasting impression on the lives of those who knew her. She was a member of the Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Melder, Louisiana.
She was preceded in death by her father and an infant son, Mark.
Survivors are her husband, Mark Head of Monroe, Louisiana; two daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Britt Moss of Monroe, Louisiana and Lydia and Adam Leonard of Sterlington, Louisiana; her mother, Cleo Pawliski of Pineville, Louisiana and two brothers, John Pawliski of Shreveport, Louisiana and Greg Pawliski of Pineville, Louisiana.
Funeral services was held Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper, Arkansas with Jason Townley and Rodney Stromlund officiating. Burial followed in Jasper Cemetery.
Visitation ws Friday, March 9, 2012 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Britt Moss, Adam Leonard, Rowland Head, Vic Trolio, B.J. Lambert and Leslie Ball. Honorary pallbearer will be John German.
