Obituary

Marvin R. Smith age 47 of Harrison, passed away at his home on April 12, 2007. The son of Ray and Delores (Davis) Smith, was born in Phoenix, Arizona on June 18, 1959.

He moved to Harrison with his parents when he was 17 years old. He worked as a carpenter, building many houses in this area and Little Cedar Cabins,which he and his wife own and operate. He also built Life Harvest Church in 1999 and served as the associate pastor and worship leader with his father, Pastor Ray Smith.
He enjoyed playing the guitar and has written many songs.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Roy Davis; his grandmother, Lavern Davis; an uncle Roy Davis, Jr. and grandfather, Lawrence Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Smith and son Brandon Smith of the home; step-daughter and her husband, Kristen and G. B. Hicks; two grandchildren, Benjamin and Jonathan Hicks, all of Harrison; his parents, Ray and Dee Smith of Harrison; sister and her husband, Julie and Bernard Brannon of Dallas, Texas; two nephews, Mike and Brent Brannon of Harrison; his grandmother, Pearl (Smith) Johnson and grandfather, Warren Johnson; aunt, Myrna White; two uncles, Rex Davis and Steve Smith all of Phoenix, AZ; one uncle, Marty Davis of Harrison, along with many dearly loved cousins.

Marvin was a dedicated worker for his family and for God. He loved God and his family and friends.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, until we re-unite again in Heaven.

Visitation was Sunday with the service Monday, April 16th at Coffman Funeral Home. Doug Grinder officiated and other speakers were Dwight Bower and Tim Slape. Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were G. B. Hicks, Mike, Brent and Bernard Brannon, Rocky Valentin and Tim Slape.
Honorary pallbearers were Shawn Bower, Marc Bradshaw and Dwight Bower.

The family expresses special thanks to the nurses of Hospice of the Hills and Drs. Robertson and Chapman for their help and care during Marvin's illness.
