Obituary

Jane Harness, age 81 of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away at Skaggs Hospital in Branson, Missouri, on Friday, January 23, 2009.

The daughter of Lester Floyd and Georgia Mary (Crump) Parker, she was born December 14, 1927 at Harrison, Arkansas.

She was a homemaker and a life-long resident of Boone County. She was a member of Southern Hills Missionary Baptist Church for nearly 60 years and served as Sunday School Treasurer for many years. Jane was a faithful and loving wife for nearly 60 years, a caring mother, a dedicated grandmother, and a great-grandmother. She dearly loved her family. She was ready and willing to testify to others abut her God. Jane loved her flowers and enjoyed gardening.

She graduated from Harrison High School in the class of 1946. After graduation, she was secretary at Boone County Hardware and Cooper's Shoe Store.

Those that preceded her in death were her parents; a son-in-law, Austin Hall; a sister-in-law, Stella Parker; and an infant nephew, Lester Carl Parker.

Jane is survived by her husband, Perry Harness; children, Becky (Harness) Hall and Rickey Harness and his wife, Cindy of Harrison; grandchildren, Heather (Hall) Guynn and her husband Dr. Zachary Guynn, Jeremy Hall, Richard and Ryan Harness; one great-grandson, Ethan Scott Guynn; two brothers, Albert (Shorty) Parker and William (Billy) Parker and his wife, Carleta, all of Harrison; one niece, Kathy Shaw, and one nephew, David Parker.

Visitation will be Sunday, 2-4 PM at Coffman Funeral Home. Services are Monday, 2:00 PM at Southern Hills Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. David Zirkle and Bro. Robert Shaddox officiating.
Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery.

Pallbearers are her grandsons, Jeremy Hall, Richard Harness, Ryan Harness, and Zach Guynn, also Buddy Trotter and Chris Adams.

Honorary pallbearers are Drs. Scott Ferguson, Tom and John Leslie, J. Martinez, and Peter Manigas; D.A.V. Auxillary, nurses at North Arkansas Dialysis Center, doctors and nurses at Skaggs Hospital, Sam and Vidana Jennings, Mary Jane Holder, Bill Pate, all her nieces, nephews, and cousins, the adult class at Southern Hills Missionary Baptist Church, and employees at Cooper's Shoes Store and Harness Boots and Shoes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the building fund at Southern Hills Missionary Baptist Church, 178 James Way, Harrison, AR 72601.
