Marietta Beth George, of Bellefonte, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at her home. She was 75 years old.

The daughter of Riley and Grace (Thompson) Horton, she was born on January 10, 1946 in Marshall, Arkansas.

Marietta was a longtime member of the United Pentecostal Church. She was a pastor's wife and took on that role with her whole heart. She had a wonderful smile and a laugh that would light up any room. Marietta was an amazing cook and was well known for her buttermilk biscuits.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Angela Gale George; one sister, Shirley Treat; and one great grandchild, Eli Head.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Rev. Larry George; one son, Larry Jason George and wife, Denise, of Jonesboro, Arkansas; one daughter, Lori Beth (George) Shields, of Green Forest, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Bethani Head and husband, Trent, Rev. Jordan Shields and wife, Tonya, Morgan Shields and Regan Shields; three great grandchildren, Isaac Head, Madison Head, and Evelyn Shields; and one sister, Judy Riddle and husband, Tom; and a host of other family, church family and friends.

Visitation will be at 10:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM, both on Friday, December 31, 2021 at Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison. Rev. Jordan Shields will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Marshall Memorial Gardens in Marshall, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Jamison Foster, Jonathan Burris, Trent Head, Kennard Sheppard, Timothy Wilson, and Preston Wigginton.
