Maria Susana Rogers, age 47, passed at home while she slept in Harrison, Arkansas on Saturday, March 2, 2024.

Maria was born on December 3, 1976, in a small town in Paraguay, South America. She was taken in with love by her parents Harold James (Jim) and Eunice Rogers, who operated a faith-based orphanage in her town.

Jim and Eunice Rogers – along with their daughter Sheryl and baby Maria – returned to the United States and lived in San Diego, California. After Jim's passing, Eunice and Maria moved around the country to be near friends and family. Maria spent years in Arkansas, Connecticut, and Tennessee before finally settling in Harrison. There she found community in her job at Boone County Special Services and through her fellowship with Christ.

To know Maria was to love her. She was filled with light, compassion, and a giving heart. Being in Maria's life meant handmade cards for every birthday, and conversations full of laughter and love. She brightened every room she entered and every life she touched.

Maria is survived by her nephew Gary Michaelson, her niece Lila Hearn, her guardians Russell Hearn and Sharon Emerson, and many others who will miss her.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jim and Eunice Rogers, and her sisters Susan Rogers, Robin Rogers, and Sheryl Hearn. Through faith and with love, Maria is united with family.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 9, at 2:00pm at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison, Arkansas. Pastor Mel Harness will officiate.
