Obituary

Margie Lee Lowery of Everton, Arkansas, graduated to her heavenly home Friday, August 19, 2022, at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison. She was 94 years old. She was born to Claude and Ethel Morrison February 21, 1928.

She was a lifelong resident of Boone and Searcy County, never living more than a few miles from where she was born.  She was a founding member of the Beckham Community Church; and she would share memories of going to church in a horse drawn wagon and holding church outside the building before the building was finished. It was while the building was still under construction and meeting outside that they were told of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

She attended Western Grove School through the 10 th grade and transferred to Everton School to finish. She said," dad got mad at the bus driver and made me transfer to Everton." The irony of the story is that her dad eventually became a bus driver for Western Grove.

For many years she cleaned homes for families in the Harrison area until her retirement. She loved to garden, taking great pleasure in eradicating weeds with her hoe. Also, among her hobbies was making quilts, with a goal to see that as many of her grandchildren received a quilt upon graduating high school.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Callaway; brother, Jimmy Joe Morrison; brother-in-law, Guy Matthews; sons, Ronald Lowery and Eddie Lowery; daughters-in-law Elvida Lowery and Jeanette Lowery.

Survivors include two sons, Bobby Lowery of Everton, and Kermit (Candy) Lowery of Hasty; one sister, Erma Matthews of Prairie Grove, sister-in-law, Sandra Morrison of Everton; 4 grandsons, 10 great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews
