Obituary

Margie Fay Carter of Valley Springs, died Wednesday, Oct 26, 2016 at Creekside Nursing Home in Yellville, AR with her family by her side at the age of 89.

Margie was born September 4, 1927, in Ft. Worth, TX, to Frank and Pairlee Chance.

She was a loving wife of 68 years to JZ Carter of Valley Springs. She is survived by her two daughters Darlene (Jim) Methvin of Lead Hill and Vicki (Dale) Reed of Gillett. Her grandchildren: Lisa (Barry) Brown of Harrison, Brian (Sheri) Reed of Bryant, Gloria Taylor of Harrison, Brandy (Eric) Still of Lead Hill, Jamie (Michelle) Methvin of Conway, Meliah (Ben) Ross of Harrisburg, IL, Chance Reed of Fayetteville, and Brittany Reed of Fayetteville. Along with 13 great-grandchildren.

She met the love of her life in Farmersville, CA and they were married in San Bernardino. They moved back and forth between California and Texas before moving permanently to Arkansas. She has always been a Texas girl, but claims Arkansas just as proudly!

Margie was a member of the following organizations during her life - Women's Democratic Club, Arkansas Cattlemen's Association, Rally Hill Friendship Club, Eastern Star, Boone County Farm Bureau, Valley Springs PTA, and an election poll worker. She faithfully attended Everton Baptist Church with her husband and was an active member of the church until her illness required her to be placed in nursing care.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison with Chaplin Kerry Liggett officiating. Interment will follow at Silver Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Chance Reed, Brian Reed, Eric Still, Ben Ross, Jamie Methvin and Paul Alan Smith.

Honorary Pallbearers are Robert Meek, Eddie Carter and Gabe Hensley.

Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
