Obituary

Margie Lee "Granny" Barnard, age 86 of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Hillcrest Home in Harrison.

The daughter of Albert and Sally (Sanders) Evans was born June 1, 1928 in Sunset, Arkansas.

Margie was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of Valley Springs First Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and enjoyed singing gospel music with her husband. She continued ministering to the residents of Hillcrest Home while living there.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Solon Barnard; a great-grandchild; two sisters, Maxine Hankins and Lois Jean Evans; and a brother, Ralph Evans.

Survivors are her sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond and Charolette Barnard of Western Grove, Darrell and Betty Barnard and Garry and Sammye Barnard all of Valley Springs; sisters, Vergie Nobles and Ruth "Hankins" Shephard both of Elkins, and Darlene Gulledge of Fayetteville; six grandchildren, Sherry (Keith) Smith, Scott (Melissa) Barnard, Bryan (Celie) Barnard, Nathan (Monica) Barnard, Kimberly (Scott) Haymes, and Spencer (Leah) Barnard; "adopted" granddaughter, Candance Park Gwon; 19 great-grandchildren, Ike, Bethany (Kirby), Faith (Tanner), Chris (Stephanie), Hunter, Brady, Stefanee (Mitchell), Garrett, Payton, Parker, Brody, Blake, Caleb, Bailey, Alex, Hannah, Jordan, Solon, and William; two great-great-grandchildren, Madison and Khloe. She is also survived by the Summit household caregivers and residents.

Visitation was Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.

Funeral service was Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Valley Springs First Baptist Church with Pastor Carl Garvin officiating.

Burial followed in Maplewood Cemetery with great-grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers were all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and the staff of Hillcrest Home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hillcrest Home or to the Valley Springs First Baptist Church food pantry.
