Margaret Annette (Cochran) Ketcherside, 79, of Harrison, went to meet Jesus on a beautiful Sunday morning, in true Margaret fashion. She was surrounded by the ones who loved her the most.
Margaret was born to Moses and Annie Cochran on September 9, 1946 in Monticello, Arkansas. She grew up and met her soulmate, Ben, in New Orleans, and married him on March 29, 1969. Together, they had two sons and five grandchildren.
In her younger years, she worked as a telephone operator in New Orleans. Afterwards, she went on to work at Walmart for over 30 years. She enjoyed serving the community of Harrison and was known as the “sweet Pentecostal woman” who always greeted everyone with a smile.
Margaret enjoyed the simple things in life. Above all, she loved going to church and serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She led many members of her family to Him. She also loved a good cup of coffee, gardening, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Ethel Cochran; her father, Moses Arthur Cochran, Sr.; her brother, Ricky Cochran; nephew-in-law, Jason Boernson; niece, Angie Masoner; nephew, Zach Waleszonia; great nephew, A.J. Lummus; and two brothers-in-law, Robert Clark and Alan Emanuel.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Benjamin W. Ketcherside; two sons, Jay (Everett) Ketcherside and Justin (Cassie) Ketcherside; grandchildren, Julianna, Evan, Noah, Emberlie, and Addison; siblings, Thelma June Clark, Madlyn Emanuel, Mark Twain Cochran, Moses Arthur Cochran, Jr., and Rebecca (Bill) Pastor; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
Visitation will be at 1:00 PM followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM both on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison. Jethy Henson will officiate. Burial will be at Maple Leaf Cemetery. Pallbearers include David Alexander, Joseph Alexander, David W. Alexander, Zach Alexander, Colby Alexander, and Keith Quinton.
In 2 Timothy 4:7, the bible says, “I have the fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” To the end of her life, she fought a good fight, and finished her race well. Margaret will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
