Mae Beatrice (Murray) Owen, age 88 of Fox, AR, formerly of Wayton, AR, passed away Monday, February 25, 2008 at White River Medical Center in Batesville, AR.

The daughter of John William and Amanda Jane (Taylor) Murray, was born February 26, 1919 at Murray, AR.

She married Leslie Earl Owen on April 27, 1935, at Murray. He preceded her in death on February 15, 2001. She had lived at Wayton until 2001, then moved to Fox to live with her daughter. She was a homemaker.

Her parents also preceded in death, along with a daughter, Patricia Sue Lasater; two sisters, Irene Daniels and Madge Carlton; and four brothers, Ode Murray, Cecil Murray, Arthur Murray, and Jack Murray.

Survivors are her son, Thomas Aaron Owen, of Topeka, KS; her daughters, Phyllis Jean Nichols, of Kansas City, KS, Beatrice Earline Peachee, of Fox, and Diane Marie Tomlinson, of Harrison; two brothers, Claud Murray, of Parthenon and Jimmy Murray, of Wichita, KS; twelve grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation was Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper. Service was Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Wayton Freewill Baptist Church with Tony Taylor officiating. Burial followed in Snow Cemetery at Wayton.
Pallbearers are grandsons, David Nichols and Donnie Joe Tomlinson; great grandsons, Andrew Stewart, Dustin Shannon, Brady Shannon, and Michael Hopkins. Honorary pallbearers are great grandsons, Jason Stewart, Kyle Giese, and Cody Giese.
