Obituary

On February 17, 2023, Lula (Lu) Faye Hamilton Scott ended her journey here on earth and awoke in heaven to meet Jesus face to face. Waiting to greet her amongst so many loved ones was her father, Alex, anxious to give his beloved "Tippy" a huge hug.

Lu was born and raised in her beloved Newton County, Arkansas. For 18+ years she accompanied and supported her husband and family as an Army wife and mother on military posts in the US and abroad. Lu and her husband Bill's (Scotty) shared love of NW Arkansas brought them back following his military retirement. Although their time with the Army ended, Lu and Bill were far from inactive. Their entrepreneurial spirit knew no bounds. The two of them established numerous businesses over the ensuing years.

Once they truly retired, Lu and Scotty became Winter Texans where they enjoyed golf, square dancing, card games and a host of other activities with fellow retirees. In the warmer months they would return to their beloved mountain where they relished hiking, fishing, gardening, four-wheeling and so many other pastimes with their many grandchildren. Lu and her husband, Bill, both passed on the same date, February 17th. Following his passing in 2007, Lu remained on the mountain for several years. Sisters and friends, Lorene and Lu continued to support each other through the next chapter of their lives as widows until Lorene's passing. Lu's love of the outdoors and adventure never waned, it just relocated to Fayetteville and was shared with the next generation.

No one could say that Lu had an easy life, but she never lost her sense of humor or quick wit. She always cared enough to worry.

Lu was preceded in death by her husband, William; sons, James Leslie and William Jr.; parents, Oshia and Alex.

She is survived by one brother, Kenneth Middleton; daughter, Jan Davidson and husband, Rick Davidson; daughter, Rebecca Scott; grandchildren, Bryan Scott and wife, Lindsay Scott, Jeremy Scott, Ashli Curry and husband, Chris Curry, Nich Davidson and wife, Ashlee Davidson, Shawn Daniell and wife, Taylor Daniell, Austin Flesch, Kyle Flesch, and Travis Flesch; great grandchildren, Kai Scott, Opal Scott, Matthew Threewit, Jeremy Scott, Jr., Logan Scott, Bryan Scott, Baylan Curry, Malakai Curry, Koren Davidson, Karter Davidson, Kalliope Davidson, Lyric Davidson; and one great great grandchild, Ramona Scott.

Funeral services will be held at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper, AR on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023 at 1:00 PM. Pastor Rodney Stromlund will officiate. Interment will be at Judea Mountain Point Cemetery. Pallbearers include Travis Flesch, Jeremy Scott Sr., Rick Davidson, Nich Davidson, Chris Curry, and Bob Caughron.

The family wishes to extend a Heartfelt Thank You to Judy Coghlan, Tanner Smith and Bri Long, our hospice angels who made the process of Lu leaving this earth as beautiful as possible.
