IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lula Mae
Lasater
January 16, 1928 – January 17, 2019
Lula Mae Lasater passed away on January 17, 2019 the day after her 91st birthday, at her home in Lampe, Missouri.
She was born January 16, 1928 in Newton County Arkansas. Lula was a Christian and a member of Marble Falls Full Gospel Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil Elijah and Nora Mae "Pruitt"; four brothers, Orville, Ross, John and Bill Smith; three sisters, Tessie Waltz, Essie Martin and Wilma Dean Daniels; her husband, Julius "J" Lasater; a son, Dennis Lasater; a daughter, Brenda Thompson and a grandson, Christopher Jason Conrad Lasater.
She is survived by two sons, Larry Lasater of Harrison and Richard Lasater of Dogpatch; one daughter, Deborah Ayers of Lampe MO. She also had 10 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lula, "Granny Lou", as she was known by many, was a loving, caring, strong woman. After losing her husband, Lula worked as a live-in caregiver and made it her life's purpose to helping, caring and loving all of her family. She always took care of her two sisters Wilma Dean, Tessie Walz, her children, her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whether it was some little thing at the dollar general or big things from Sears. When asked why she didn't want to save a little money her response was, "I want to see it being enjoyed", which she did and it filled her loving heart with joy.
She will be missed by many as she touched so many hearts in her long life.
Celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 4:00 PM at the Marble Falls Gospel Church, with Melinda Smith officiating. A Graveside service will follow at Shaddox cemetery, and a pot luck dinner afterwards at the Marble Falls Full Gospel Church.
Honorary pallbearers are James Lasater, Joseph Lasater, Rickey Vanzant and Eric Vanzant.
