Obituary

Lula Mary (Dillingham) Bailey, of Harrison, AR formerly of Alpena, AR passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at Hillcrest Home.

The daughter of Warren and Hannah Elizabeth (Hendricks) Dillingham, was born January 16, 1912 at Alpena.

The beautiful light of our lives, was welcomed joyfully into God's Heaven by those gone before her. Her husband, Baud - better known as Poppy!, her twin sister, Eula, her mother and father, four other sisters, four brothers, a grandson, Rodney Bailey, an unborn grandson she will hold for the first time, a daughter-in-law, Bettie Wallis, and a son-in-law, Walt Record, were those who escorted her to the breakfast table of gold, where she joyously met her GOD, LORD, and SAVIOR!

Lula Mary Dillingham married Baud Bailey on March 5, 1932. Of this marriage they had six children, who all survive her, Floretta and Alfred Blackmon, Doyle and Sabrina Bailey, Kenneth and Mary Bailey, Larry and Lorene Bailey, Ronnie and Joretta Bailey, and Connie and Roger Hackman. She is also survived by grandchildren, Gary, Brenda, Sandy, Pamela,
Lea Ellen, Marlena, Wade, Wayne, Rene', Denise, Robin, Seth, Scotty, and Shannon; many great grandchildren, many great great grandchildren; her sister, Alice Bailey of Alpena; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends.

Mom, Mother, Mommie, Granny, Gran, whatever name she answered to, spent most of her 95 years on this earth making a home for her family. If that meant picking fruit in California, working in the canneries, or helping Poppy in the logging business back in Arkansas. She raised her children and grandchildren with the stories of Jesus. She took us to church and showed us God's love - a love she knew was always there! Daily we heard songs of Jesus and His love. Her faith in the Lord never wavered, she never questioned. On the last day before she found her reward in Christ, she sang her songs of praise.

Visitation was Sunday, June 17 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Service was Monday, June 18 at Batavia Assembly of God with Rev. Tollie Sutterfield and Rev. Arlis Thrasher officiating. Burial followed in Alpena Cemetery. Pallbearers were her grandchildren and honorary pallbearers were her great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hillcrest Home, 1111 Maplewood Road, Harrison, AR 72601.

Today, as we, all her family, and friends mourn the loss of someone so dear to us, we also want to welcome you to celebrate the never wavering belief of a beautiful, wonderful lady's faith in God every single day she walked this earth. Now know she has her just reward!
