Louise Vida Hatter Mondy, age 92 of Harrison, died Friday, April 4, 2014.  She was born in Northern Indiana on November 14, 1921 to Mr. and Mrs. Harry and Bertha (Sudlow) Hatter.  They moved to Boone County in 1936.  She was the last surviving member of her 1940 Omaha High School graduation class.
Louise married James Walter Mondy April 21, 1942.  They lived in Hartford, Connecticut during World War II, coming back to Boone County to farm at the foot of Sulpher Mountain for most of their married life.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs.Harry Hatter, husband James Walter Mondy, a son, Dale Oliver Mondy, her sister, Emma Lockridge, and a half brother, Walter Hatter.
Louise is survived by her brother, H. Oliver Hatter, a sister Roseltha Hallowry, a half-brother, Harry Lee Hatter, her son, James Arlen Mondy and wife Janet, a daughter, Marilyn Rose Jones and husband Kenneth all of Harrison.  Louise is survived by her grandchildren and many happy memories of time spent together as well as great-grandchildren.  She loved the farm life and also enjoyed sewing, gardening and cooking.  She loved doing the crossword puzzle in the newspaper.  She will be remembered as the family's champion scrabble player.

Louise was a wonderful Christian lady.  She was a longtime member of Union Baptist Church and also attended First Baptist Church with her daughter and son-in-law.

Funeral service was Monday, April 7 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison with Rev. Rob Davis officiating. Burial followed at White Church Cemetery. Visitation was Sundayat Coffman Funeral Home.  Pallbearers were Luke Mondy, Stuart Jones, Bryan Jones, Guy Lockridge, Billy Lockridge, James Brown and Charlie Estes.  Honorary pallbearers were Cathy Clary, the loving staff that cared for Louise at Apple Ridge and Hospice of the Hills.
