Obituary

Louis Howard Rushing age 88, of Harrison passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013 at his home.

Louis was born November 24, 1924 in Vera, Texas to Albert and Sarah Rushing, the seventh of ten children.

Louis had lived in Harrison for eight years, moving here from Palm Desert, California. Louis served in the Navy where he earned a Silver Star for Bravery on the USS Petrof Bay. He was a musician, enjoyed gardening, designing pools and homes. Louis built and pastored a church in San Fernando Valley, California for ten and a half years. He also did Missionary work in different countries. Louis loved living in Arkansas and referred to it as the "outskirts of Heaven".

Louis was preceded in death by his parents, and eight brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Deanna (Taylor) of the home: two daughters, Judy Curtis and husband, Ken of Fullerton, California and Linda Hammonds and husband, Darrell of Savery, Wyoming: one sister, Louise Smith of Sterling, Alaska: five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. The service will be directed by "Red" Dixon.
