Valley Lorene Eddings, age 87 of St. Joe, Arkansas passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
She was born January 3, 1924 in St. Joe, Arkansas the daughter of William and Alta (Crow) Martin.
She had worked for Duncan Industries for twenty-six years and was a member of Pine Bluff Church.
She loved making quilts, gardening, canning, and farming. More than anything, though, she loved all her family equally. She always told us she didn't love one any more than the other. She considered the kid's spouses her own kids and there was no such thing as "steps" in her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Eddings, they were married Oct. 18, 1939 until his death on Feb. 9, 1974. Also preceding her were her daughter, Loretta Sisco; a son, Coy Eddings and his wife, Penny; a grandson, Brian Eddings; a granddaughter, Pam Hathaway; two great-granddaughters, Maggie and Melissa Mayfield; and a sister, Eva Wheeler.
Survivors are her children, Roy Eddings and wife Gladys of St. Joe, Clifford Sisco of Western Grove, Billy Dale Eddings and wife Judy of Winslow, Arkansas, Elvida Lowery and husband Ron of Valley Springs, Almeda Harris and husband Johnny of Eros, Coeta Hensley and husband Steve of Valley Springs, Leveta Snyder and husband Buddy of Eros; sister, Nadine Horn of St. Joe; twenty-one grandchildren; forty-seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation was Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Coffman funeral Home with service Wednesday, April 20, 2011 in the funeral home chapel. Dennis Sisco officiated.
Burial followed in Western Grove Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Tom Leslie, Dr. John Leslie and the staff of Eagle Heights Clinic; and Kathy and Cat at Wound Care.
