Lora Weston, age 93 of Walnut, Arkansas passed away Friday, Feb. 23, 2007 at Johnson Regional Medical Center in Clarksville, AR.
The daughter of Carlie and Josie (Edgmon) Ramsey was born May 15, 1913 on the Little Buffalo near Nail, AR. She was preceded in death by her paretns; her husband, Alva H. Weston, whom she married December 23, 1934 at Nail; brothers, Audie, Jesse, Rastus, Doy, and Carlie Ramsey, Jr.; and two sisters, Dotha Sparks and Josephine Bennett.
She had been a lifelong resident of Newton County and was one of Jehovah's Witnesses for over 65 years, being a member of Deer Congregation. She had worked for the garment factory in Harrison, and was a homemaker. She enjoyed flower gardens and making lovely quilts.
Survivors are her son, Alva Gerald Weston of Warsaw, MO; daughters, Joe Etta Langdon of Walnut, AR, Gussie Faye Dudley of Wheatland, MO, and Doris Jean Helverson of Blue Springs, MO; sisters, Leah Trenary of Clinton, MO, Leola Wheeler and Opha Sparks, both of Harrison; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; numerous step grandchildren, and many treasured nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be Monday, 6-8 PM at Coffman Chapel in Jasper, with service on 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Swain Cemetery.
