Obituary

Lonnie James McNair, age 65, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri on Sunday, February 25, 2024.

The son of Lenard and Lucy (McAlister) McNair was born June 18, 1958 in Harrison.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Wayne McNair; a sister, Christie McNair; and brother-in-law, Connie Gibbins.

Lonnie is survived by his wife of 47 years, Debbie McNair; his son, Jerrett McNair (Cheryl); his daughter, Lacey Usrey (Randall); four grandchildren, Taylor McNair, Bryanna McNair, Halle Usrey, and Brittnee Cates; four great grandkids; two sisters, Rosa Davidson (Lonzo) and Melissa Arciga (Leo); brother-in-law, Donnie Gibbins (Wilma); two aunts, Mary Armer and Charlene Davidson; many nieces, nephews and a host of extended relatives and many dear friends.

Lonnie loved to work. There was nothing he couldn't do. He cut timber most of his life, ran a dozer, and most recently worked for Newberry Farms raising cattle. When he was younger, he was an avid coon hunter and enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

He loved his family dearly. His grandchildren brought him great joy and he loved watching them play basketball. Lonnie was the best husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He always took care of everyone – and was a friend to everyone. To his grandkids, there was no better grandpa around. Lonnie nicknamed everyone, from family to friends, it didn't matter who you were, you got a nickname.

He was deeply loved by all who knew him, and he will be greatly missed.

Funeral service will be at 10 AM, Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison with Pastor Eddie Reed and Justin Villines officiating. Burial will follow in Plumlee Cemetery.
