Lona E. Moore, of Harrison, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at her home.  She was 108 years old.

The daughter of William Alonzo and Dossie (Thurman) Sims was born on September 5, 1915 in Bradley, Arkansas.

Lona was of the non-denominational faith and enjoyed reading, gardening, and birdwatching. She was also the oldest member of the VFW Auxiliary in the state of Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Moore; one son, Ronald Moore; two sisters, Zelma Hanson and Marie Sauce; and three brothers, Wilbert, Gilbert, and Alonzo Sims.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathryn McGraw and Peggy Jackson; four grandchildren, Ron Lewis, Debi Parker (Sid East), Kathy Espey, and Derrel Lewis (Faye); two great grandchildren, Cody and Dustin Espey.

A memorial service will be held later this year.
