Lois Collins, age 89 of Jasper, Arkansas passed away Sunday, December 7, 2008 at her home in Jasper.
The daughter of Jim and Zella Clyde (Hefley) Hamilton, she was born June 11, 1919 at Mt. Judea, Arkansas.
She was a lifelong resident of Newton County and was a homemaker. She was of the Church of Christ faith.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Gradon Collins; two sons, L.D. Collins and Jim Collins; an infant daughter, Wanda Lee Collins; one grandson, Jason Smith; four brothers, Kenneth Cross, Doyle Hamilton, Glen Hamilton, and Roy Allen Cross; one sister, Norella Eddings; and a son-in-law, Stanley Smith.
Survivors are her children, Kenneth and Linda Collins of Jasper, Earl and Ellen Collins of Jasper, Danny and Venita Collins of Western Grove, Curt and Norma Collins of Bergman, Mary Jane Smith of Jasper, and Diane and Danny Smith of Jasper; two brothers, Calvin Hamilton of Jasper and Bernell Cross of Western Grove; one sister, Mary Etta Hamilton of Blue Springs, MO; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper. Service followed on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Charles Christian officiating. Burial was in Jasper Cemetery. Pallbearers were Josh Smith, John Dean Collins, Dwayne Collins, Shane Collins, Ronald Collins, and Richard Collins. Honorary pallbearers were her grandchildren.
