Lloyd "Coach" Gene Premer, age 73 of Harrison, AR passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at his home in Harrison, after fighting a battle with cancer.
The son of Lowell and Helen (Pugh) Premer, was born December 20, 1933 in Blythedale, MO.
His parents preceded him in death, along with two brothers, Lowell Premer, Jr. and Tom Premer.
Coach Premer was in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Upon returning from the military he attended college at Truman State University at Kirksville, MO.
He had been a Teacher and Coach for over 25 years. After retiring he and his wife, Sharon purchased Carpetmaster of Harrison, in 1987, which she will continue to operate.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon (Oerly) Premer of the home; children, Kimberly Shatwell of Harrison, Chris Fancler and his wife, Sheila also of Harrison, Lloyann Lucas and her husband, Terry of Huntsville, MO, Jerry Premer and his wife, Dianna of Drury, MO, and Julie Rodgers and her husband, Brad of Rolla, MO; grandchildren, PFC. T. Quentin Rodriquez of Harrison (currently serving in Baghdad, Iraq) and his wife, Nickie of Harrison, Samantha and Abigail Fancler of Harrison, Dustin Premer and his wife, Kayla of Mansfield, MO, Dominique Premer of Drury, MO, and Emma, Ellie, and Evie Rodgers all of Rolla, MO; great granddaughters, Mariah and Melody Premer of Mansfield, MO; and his brother, Jim Premer and his wife, Carolyn of LaBelle. FL.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful caregivers of Hospice of the Hills in Harrison, for all their care, respect and support they have given the entire family.
Memorial service was held Monday, January 15 at Coffman Chapel in Harrison with Pastor Fred Evans officiating. Cremation and arrangements were handled by Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.
