IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linda Ann
Archer
October 24, 1952 – November 13, 2024
Linda Ann Archer, age 72, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Arkansas.
The daughter of Charles and June (Brown) Wilkes was born October 24, 1952 in Port Hueneme, California. She grew up in Jacksonville, Florida and met the love of her life, Dennis Archer, in 1971, while he was stationed at the Naval Base. They married 9 months later on January 29, 1972. They lived in several states over the years, and moved to Dennis' hometown of Harrison in 2004.
Linda loved to cross-stitch and can fruits and vegetables. She was an avid collector of Stephen King books and movies. She was an excellent baker, and famous within her family for her German Chocolate Cake. Linda loved watching NFL football, especially the KC Chiefs. She and Dennis loved to go to the casino together. Her most demanding job and hobby was keeping Dennis out of trouble.
If you knew Linda, you knew her to be loving, caring, honest, and selfless. She always put the needs of her family above her own. She was a strong woman, content to be in the background, with a personality that naturally drew people to her. She quietly guided and ran her family, always setting a good example of a good person. Her love and devotion to her family will be remembered for generations and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and June Wilkes, and her father and mother-in-law, B.T. and Beatrice Archer.
Linda is survived by her husband of 52 years, Dennis Archer; her children, Michael Archer and Andrea Archer; her brother, Tim Wilkes; 9 grandchildren, Andrew Archer (Brooke), Chance Archer, Spencer Archer, Bonnie Taylor Reed, Thea Sanders, Alantis Bowersock, Jasmine Archer, Ace Taylor Reed, Brice Archer; 5 great grandchildren, plus one on the way; a brother-in-law, Mike Archer (Nancy); her cat, Bashful, who has proudly claimed her chair since her passing; and a host of extended family and many dear friends.
Funeral service will be at 10 AM, Monday, November 18 (2024) at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison with Brandon Rathbun and Larry Keeter officiating. Burial will follow at York Cemetery with Mitchell Archer officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 17 at Coffman Funeral Home from 1 PM to 3 PM (so everyone can be home in time for the Chief's game in Linda's honor).
Pallbearers are Andrew Archer, Spencer Archer, Bonnie Taylor Reed, Ace Taylor Reed, Shawn Lumley, and Steve Brannon.
Honorary pallbearers are the Doctors and Staff of Crossroads Medical Clinic.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations made to Crossroads Medical Clinic, ATTN Melissa Walker, 1420 Hwy 62-65N, Harrison, AR, 72601; or in person at the clinic. Funds will be used to aid those who cannot afford medical equipment, doctor visits, and prescriptions.
