Lillie Daniels Taylor, age 95 passed away ath the Newton County Nursing Home on August 23, 2008. She was born at Wayton, Arkansas on February 12, 1913, the daughter of Sam and Martha (Snow) Daniels. Lillie was married to Vester T. Taylor.
"Granny", as she was known to most who knew her, lived her life at Wayton as a homemaker, wife and mother. Like her husband and her father, she was a charter member of the Wayton Freewill Baptist Church at Wayton. She was a Sunday Card Class Teacher, song leader and Sunday School Clerk. Lillie was a past member of the chapter of the Eastern Star at Wayton.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Modena Taylor; her husband, Vester Taylor; her granddaughter, Rochelle Shawnee Hendrix; her parents; her step mother "Mother Kate" Daniels; four brothers, Walter, Floyd, Henry and Vearl Daniels.
Survivors include her son, Grant Taylor of Jasper; her daughter, Pauline Taylor Hendrix of Wayton; brother-in-law, Ivery Taylor, who after her husband's death took care of her until his own health failed and was no longer able; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her.
Funeral services were Monday August 25, 2008 at Wayton Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. James Compton officiating. Burial followed in Wayton Cemetery under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home of Jasper. Visitation was Sunday, Aug. 24th at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Tony Taylor, Clinton Taylor, Paul Lasater, Trent Daniels, Erbie Daniels, and Ed Patrick.
Honorary pallbearers were the staff of Newton County Nursing Home.
