Lex Gene McCormick, age 85 of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017 in Springfield, Missouri.

The son of Leonard Eugene and Flora Jane (Watkins) McCormick was born on November 7, 1931 in Harrison.

Lex was a graduate of the Harrison High School class of 1950 and was also a 50 year Mason.   He served his nation in the Army National Guard and served in the Korean War.  He was an outdoorsman, enjoyed woodworking, gardening and spoiling his grandkids and great-grandkids.  He was a member of Crossroads Community Church and was very involved in the church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edna McCormick; a son, Johnny B. McCormick; a brother, Leroy McCormick and a sister Peggy Unwer and her husband Bud.

Lex is survived by a daughter, Pamela J. Rowe and husband Bob of Harrison; a brother, Jerry McCormick and wife Pat of Wisconsin; a sister-in-law, Linda McCormick of Harrison; two grandchildren, Brent Rowe and wife Jamie and Jarrett Rowe and wife Ashley; two great-grandchildren, Ember Rowe and Skylar Rose Rowe; many nieces, nephews and other family and friends who will mourn his passing.

Services will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Crossroads Community Church with Johnny Walters officiating.  Burial will follow at Bellefonte Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel.  Pallbearers will be the EMS Honor Guard.  Honorary pallbearers include the Masons, his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to Crossroads Community Church, 2658 Old Bergman Road, Harrison, Arkansas 72601.
