Lessie May (Markle) Powell, age 91 of Lead Hill, Arkansas passed away Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Hospice of the Hills Hospice House in Harrison, Arkansas.
The daughter of G.W. "Wash" and Ethel (Waggoner) Markle was born June 1, 1919 in Dodd City, Arkansas.
She was a member of Lead Hill Church of God and was a homemaker.
Her parents preceded her in death, along with her husband, A.L. Powell; a daughter, Carmal Lee (Markle) Chaney; a grandson; a great-granddaughter; and her sisters and brother, Hallie Markle, Coyita (Markle) Richardson, Bert Markle, and L.D. Markle.
Survivors are sons, Kenneth Powell and wife, Georgie, Dean Powell and wife, Elvira, and Larry Powell and wife, Pam, all of Lead Hill; brothers and sisters, E. G. Markle of Warsaw, Missouri, Vernie (Markle) Stonecipher of Yakima, Washington, Wayne Markle, Ruby (Markle) Dees Hopper, John Markle, and Jerry Markle all of Lead Hill, and Delphi (Markle) Hensley of Bellefonte, Arkansas. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren.
Visitation was Friday, December 3, 2010 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Graveside service was Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Keesee Cemetery at Monarch with Freeland Peterson officiating. Burial followed with pallbearers being Toby Powell, Steven Powell, Tommy Powell, Terry Powell, Leslie Powell, and Keith Williams.
Honorary pallbearers were the staff of the Hospice House.
