Leslie Franklin Hathcoat of Harrison, Arkansas went to be with his Lord on Friday, June 3, 2011 at the age of 85
He was born at home on May 11, 1926 in Boone County, Arkansas the son of Martin Leslie and Birtie (Roberts) Hathcoat. Leslie was a lifelong resident of Boone County with the exception of 3 years when he lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he met and married Peggy Ann Evans on June 9, 1949.
Shortly after their marriage, they moved back to Boone County, Arkansas.
Leslie was first and foremost a farmer but also worked for Pepsi Cola for 34 years. After retiring from Pepsi Cola he devoted his time to his farm and family.
Leslie's favorite hobbies were quail hunting and bowling which he and Peggy enjoyed together.
Leslie served his country in the U.S. Army during the end of WWII.
His parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Hathcoat of Harrison; his sons and daughters-in-law, Daryl and Susan Hathcoat of Houston, TX., and David and Jeannine Hathcoat of Ada, OK.; his daughter, Caryl Hill and husband Paul of Harrison; his brother, James Hathcoat and wife Marianne of Harrison; his sisters, Wanda Carner of Tulsa, OK, Shirley Hathcoat of Harrison, and Mary Ann Stevens and husband Lance of Warner Robins, GA.; his grandchildren, Kimberly, Brent and Richard Hathcoat, John and Lauren Hathcoat, Larry and Kevin Hill and Dustin Macejewski; and his great grandchldren, Julia Hill, Breanna and Caden.
Funeral service was Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison with Elmer Griever and Glenn Crenshaw officiating. Burial followed in Brittain Cemetery at Olvey.
Visitation was Monday at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers were the Hospice House staff, Dr. Tom Langston, and Tom Young.
